Campus and Library tours, IT support - all day

Campus Tours

Get to know the campus with a one hour tour beginning at the Welcome Info Point in the Richard Hoggart Building (RHB) reception at 10am, 11, 12pm, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Library Tours

Find out how to use the library in one of their essential tours.  Meet at the library reception at 10am, 11, 12pm, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

IT Support

The IT&IS Service Desk on the 1st floor of the Library (Rutherford Building) is open 9am-10pm to help with any email, Wi-Fi, or IT problems.

Student Life Fair - 10am-4pm

Discover the opportunities Goldsmiths has to offer and how we can support your learning and wellbeing.  This must visit event is where you'll find out all the different people who can help you throughout your time here.

Students' Union events on College Green - all day

Goldsmiths Students' Union are running events on the College Green:

10.30am-12pm - Dedicated Listeners
Meet the Dedicated Listeners: Goldsmiths students who provide one to one listening and support to their fellow students when in need.

11am-12pm - Open Yoga Session
Join a free yoga session led by a qualified instructor on the Green (or in the Marquee if it’s wet). Please bring your own mats if you would like to use one.

12-2pm - Arts Sisterhood UK’s Art Selfcare
A peer-led women and non-binary only art session. Drop-in to an art class assisted by an accredited psychotherapist and meet new people whilst focusing on your well-being during Welcome Week!

2-4pm - Pronoun Bracelet Making
A session for LGBTQ+ and allies, drop by the marquee for a coffee and make a pronoun bracelet or badge.

4-5pm Language Mixer
Are you looking to learn a new language? Or maybe you are looking to improve the languages you already know? Come along to the language mixer and meet your language partner.

PGR students: induction and welcome - 10am-6pm

Induction from the Graduatate School in Professor Stuart Hall Building LG02

Followed by a PGR reception hosted by Pro Warden Elisabeth Hill in the Whitehead Building Foyer from 5.15pm

International students: Welcome talk - 10-11am

Staff from our International Office and our Wellbeing Service will share helpful information on being a Goldsmiths student and living in London.

Hacksmiths Hackathon - 11am-9pm

Goldsmiths Students' Union society Hacksmiths and the Department of Computing invite you to take part in DoC.Hack - a friendly and welcoming introduction to the Computing Community at Goldsmiths. This is event is for all students in all programmes and years, and members of faculty.

For 6 hours you'll get to design and build weird, wacky and wonderful projects while meeting new people and having fun, before a relaxed show and tell.

Borough Market trip with Students' Union - 11am-2pm

A free walking tour and explore the culinary delights and hustle and bustle of London’s famous Borough Market organised by Goldsmiths Student's Union.

Political History of New Cross walk with Students' Union - 1-2.30pm

Have you heard of the New Cross fire of 1981? Did you know the National Front organised a rally in New Cross in 1977 and the backlash created a huge range of anti-fascist and anti-racist organisations?

To hear about these events and more of the radical political history of New Cross, join us for a walking tour of the area, developed by leading Goldsmiths sociologist Les Back for Goldsmiths Student's Union.

International students: Greenwich meals - from 6.30pm

A meal together in a local restaurant in Greenwich.

Pre-registration required for either contemporary Italian food or traditional pies and mash.


UV Volleyball with Students' Union - 6-8.30pm

Meet the Goldsmiths Students' Union Mixed Volleyball Team and play volleyball like you’ve never seen it before! Same usual volleyball rules apply, but with added glow in the dark goodness.
