Goldsmiths Library welcomes visitors from the local community. If you are a resident in the Lewisham Council area, you may use the library to consult its resources.

All visitors have reference access to our books and journals in Art, Education, Social Sciences, Computing and the Humanities. There is a School Practice Library with material useful to teachers, and we hold several Special Collections, including the Women’s Art Library. Due to the collection being primarily for Goldsmiths students courses we are unable to provide borrowing access.

How can I gain access to Goldsmiths Library?
  • Apply for a day reference pass at the Library reception desk. You will need to bring proof of your home address, such as a recent utility bill or a driving licence. A day pass will be issued to you which expires at 20.45.

  • If you have an ongoing need to consult the collections you can apply for a community user pass online.

  • Applications will be reviewed and can take up to 5 working days to process.

  • Following approval you will need to bring proof of you home address to the Library Help Desk and then collect your Goldsmiths card from the Security Office (Richard Hoggart Building) which is open: Monday to Friday, 12.00-14.00 & 17.00-18.45 Saturday, 12.00-14.00
