Whistleblowing Policy

Approved by Council on 30 June 2016 (replacing the Policy originally approved on 30 March 1999). There was an amendment to the introductory statement at the request of Audit Committee in the Summer term 2008, to indicate that any employees in territories outside the UK should be treated as if the Public Interest Disclosure Act applied to them, and a more significant revision approved by Council on 1 December 2009.

This Policy is to be read in conjunction with the Financial Regulation on Whistleblowing and with related formal procedures, including the Fraud Policy.

The Whistleblowing Policy does not apply to the Students' Union, except when the internal procedures of the Union have been exhausted.
